From our founder

Lisa Foster, Founder

Lisa’s background includes working with both Big 4 and boutique consultancies. She holds the prestigious FSA Credential from the IFRS Foundation and is an alumna of the LEAP program from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, co-creator of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. She is a guest lecturer at Canada’s top universities and a speaker at sustainability events and think tanks.

I’ve advised businesses for more than 20 years, and for the last decade I’ve focused on sustainable and responsible business practices. I’ve worked with large multinationals and with very small teams. The reports they were asked for were different. What they needed was the same.

First, they needed to know which regulations actually applied to them. Then, when a report came due, whether required by law in a country where they operate or requested by a customer, a bank or an investor, they needed one platform they could trust. That means published methodologies and an audit trail ready for their verifier. Guidance built in, with a human advisor available when they want one. Data entered once and used for every report that needs it. And pricing that works for their budget, whatever its size.

As a consultant, I had a front-row seat to what my clients needed and what was missing. Over time, I could picture the platform that would meet those needs. When I couldn’t find it, I built it. Every feature in ThemisIQ traces back to a real client question, and I’m glad you’re here.

How we use AI

We use AI in one place: with Bill Review, an AI agent reads the source documents you upload, such as utility bills, and pulls out the figures for you to confirm. Your emissions are always calculated by the platform using our published methodologies, not by AI.

Prefer a person to read your bills? When you buy Bill Review, you can choose to have a ThemisIQ specialist read them instead. Bills uploaded while an inventory is read by a specialist are never sent to the AI. To change how your bills are read later, ask us at hello@themisiq.co.

Where the name comes from

In early Greek myth, Themis was the Titaness of divine law and custom. Her name was understood to mean “what is laid down.” Hesiod names her as the mother of Good Order, Justice and Peace.

Themis was known for wise counsel. We share her view that peace follows good order: we help you understand what’s required, bring your data together once, and deliver reports you can stand behind.
